Nvidia deserve it tbh, they're cards are decent performance for less power/heat and less noise. Also their mobile first strategy (aping Intel) is a very strong way to go, as it can benefit the smaller devices (portable/auto) or the many masses (compute).
AMD unfortunately floundered at the wrong time, and couldn't back up their great ideas. Their APU's were better than the Atom or IONs but then they let Intel catchup on the GPU front, and now they're relegated to the budget market.
i am still an AMD user (desktop + laptop) but that is going to end next week because i have ordered my intel/nvidia laptop , i really gave up on AMD , they have the worst drivers i have ever installed and the worst CPUs , what i will miss is the APUs , they are great but that is not enough for me , also there is not so many AMD laptops , i am sad so sad for leaving AMD (both Desktop and Laptop) but i cant take it anymore.
and before anyone says i will encounter problems with nvidia/intel , i tried the GT70 , and i liked the stability and performance of nvidia/intel , but i am forced to sell it because its so heavy , so i ordered the GS60 ghost pro.
i wish to see AMD rise again , but the path they are following now i don't see that is going to happen so soon.

Hexus... You do realize that fool dot com is not a real news site and the writer(s) make up whatever story they like and it is not nescessarliy based on fact? Hence it is fool.com and not news.com or legit.com. Sheesh, think about it and actually research their articles before quoting them like legitimate news. Example "http://jonpeddie.com/press-releases/details/nvidia-jumps-13-from-last-quarter-intel-up-11.6-amd-slips-7-reports-jpr/" This does shows Nvidias' recent surge and Intels' huge market share due to embedded graphics. This is more than likely based on the fantastic but pricey 780Ti and the new 980 series but hardly spells and end to AMD graphics.
Were fool dot com a newspaper "the writer, an investor in Nvidia stocks" might face censure for talking up his own investments.

Don't agree with what you've written in that second bit - every benchmark I've seen has had AMD's APU's running rings around the Intel equivalents. Put it this way, if I was looking for some kind of all-in-one solution for a cheapish PC with decent graphics for gaming, then no way would I be looking at anything from Intel.
For CPU's though, (minus the GPU bit), chipzilla is still yards ahead of AMD unless you start factoring in price as the lead item. And I'm speaking as someone who's desktop is 100% AMD ... at the moment.
Good point - I did kind of wonder about that. Motley Fool used to have a good reputation for enthusiast type journalism, but this kind of dubious practice does have me wonder if standards have taken a nose dive.

I think it's going to be a very bad Q4 for both AMD & Nvidia. Yes Nvidia has GTX970 & GTX980 which should help them but the bulk of GPU sales happen at the sub $250 region with no GTX960 until January supposedly it won't be here before Christmas.
In the Sub $250 region AMD is king but it's not sunny for them either the coin miners have dumped there cards you can now get a 290X for $100 - $200. A deal so compelling that it should even draw the attention of the possible GTX970/980 buyers.
At the price some of these 290X cards are going for who would buy anything else from either team. I suppose you do run a certain risk with buying secondhand stuff but that can often be mitigated by using a well known seller.

It gets even worse if you look at the lower AMD cards some of these are going for almost nothing & still offer some pretty good performance in all but the most demanding games.
The Motley Fool may be a lot of things, but a fake news site is not one of them. Perhaps you should do some more research before making such posts...

To be honest, I don't care if A graphics card has better specs than B. I will always choose Nvidia graphics card. I bought one AMD once, and it sucked so hard, I still regret buying it as of today. I had so many problems, I ended up going back to my old 9500GT.
As I always have a budget limit, I will choose the best Nvidia card I can buy. I don't care if the AMD equivalent is better or is a step better than the Nvidia. They suck and I will never buy them again.

Many of the sites now get contributions from external writers - there is a guy on a US forum who has a massive hatred of AMD who actually contributes to some of the bigger websites,so ultimately I would be careful about trusting any of the sites. Plus a number are stock shorters,who make money from actually being as hyper negative about companies as possible -FFS these are the sort of clowns who caused Apple's share price to go down during one period,since even though they were making MORE profit than in the same period the previous year,they were not making ENOUGH profit,according to the numbers they pulled out of their arse.
They are only there to make themselves extra dosh - not anyone reading their advice.
Any person who actually had good investment advice would be not freelancing to websites and waiting for their next paycheck week to week - they would having their own firm,making mega dollars themselves and not revealing their secrets for a tuppence ha'penny.
How anyone can trust these kind of investment lots 100% genuinely is hilarious - their fantastic investment advice and maths really helped the world economy SOOOOOOOOO much during the dot-com crash and the current set of economic problems.
The people who really get rich from investments do their own maths and research and follow the trends themselves.

That being said, nVidia does seem to have superior offerings to AMD these days. I'm mainly thinking performance per Watt, power usage, heat and noise. AMD graphics cards are no slouches, though.
