Warning about cheap Wiimotes on PlayTrade

Be careful if you buy Wii remotes from Play.com. I recommend only buying them from Play themselves, even though it's going to cost you more. For example, from this link you should only see genuine licenced remotes:
    http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/172...e/Product.html

I bought a couple from Playtrade seller onlinegames786, which was a mistake. Their description states:
brand new without box to save on postage cost
which is a bare faced lie. They're without box, not to save on postage costs but because they're cheap Chinese knockoffs.

The fact that they're knockoffs is bad enough, but they're crappy knockoffs.
    1) The speaker is too loud and distorted to the point it's unbearable to use
    2) The motion sensor is borked making games unplayable.
    3) The battery level meter is erratic

Don't buy from onlinegames786. I would give them the benefit of the doubt if not for the fact they tried to justify the reason they're not boxed.

I found their support very helpful after a seller sold me an unboxed game as brand new and sealed, not to mention an American grey import....

Long story short I left neutral feedback, got a LOT of abuse from the seller about it (who ran a couple of sites selling similar games) who disputed that a game was still brand new and sealed despite not having a Microsoft COA (when it should have) and his business card had been placed inside of it. Reported it to Play.com and sent them the ENTIRE transcript... including the abusive emails he sent me and the replies I sent back, he no longer exists on the Playtrade service.

Also reported him to trading standards for breaching a number of laws relating to online retailing businesses including blatant flouting of the Distance Selling Regulations, also to HM Rev & Customs as he was more than likely not declaring the businesses, and also to his local council with proof he was operating from his home address and as such should be paying the suitable business tax rate, not residential rates.

Funnily enough if he just accepted the neutral feedback I wouldn't have taken it further.... but 'demanding' I remove it, and calling me a bloody idiot in the same email.... he was fair game as far as I was concerned for his appalling customer service.

I had someone rip me off on ebay and he openly admitted to running a business. I knew i could report him to H&M customs but I didnt think of reporting him to the local council for running a business from his home. Thanks Finlay!! I will be reporting him to both.
