Thumbs down The Monitor that ruined summer...

My monitor got a small bug in it. To cut a long story short, after sending it to LG, Invec Solutions, being given my monitor BACK (only this time, completely broken - god knows what they did to it, I sent it to Scan. I got the RMA number nice and quick, and packed up the monitor. Despite the £20 I payed for next day delivery, it was apparently recieved 5 days later, on the 25th August, but I thought maybe this was just the database or something. It is now the 3rd of September, as I'm sure you all know and my RMA has been completed for over a week now. When I go to track it, it always shows up with "picked" and "dispatched" having crosses by them (does this mean it hasn't happened yet, or that another thing's gone wrong?) Either way, it's hardly up to the apparent 10 day turnaround, which I know Scan is capable of (my PSU broke a while back). I've been without this monitor for over 6 weeks now, and I will be sending a rather angry letter to LG for the amazing display of customer service I have witnessed.

Should have bought a Dell, their turnaround for a faulty product for me, was less than 24 hours . A hint for the future perhaps

From experience, the "received" date isn't when Scan received the package, it's when they opened it (seeing as they can't tell the RMA number til it's been opened, it's not that surprising). I know 2 or 3 months ago they had a 5 day backlog of RMAs to open, so there were big delays with marking RMAs as received... it's probably the same thing again.

wow that sounds terrible. the worst thing isnt even being without ur monitor, it's the waiting. if u knew it was gonna take 6 weeks+ from the outset then it wouldn't be as bad but it seriously stings when promises get broken again and again. sounds like you got extremely unlucky this time

Re: The Monitor that ruined summer...

I guess it took them 5 days to open 'cause of the various puzzles and traps I set for security reasons. It was like "Saw", but in a box.

And for Lee, I'll PM the invoice number(s).

Edit: Damn, can't PM - is it safe to just post 'em up here?

I seem to remember some forum jiggery pokery was done so that if you include an order number in your post only scan can see it rather than joe public... If you add it in you can always remove it straight away if it's still showing.

Edit: this *may* only work in the after sales support sub-forum

If you post it,the SCAN staff will remove it.
Maybe a mod could grant you PM rights for a few minutes to send the PM.

Or if you post here: http://forums.hexus.net/scan-care-he...sales-support/ - with the invoice number - one of the mods should be able to merge threads.

yh, sorry about that, that post was very poor, i was going to say something more constructful, but couldnt think of anything to say, i just wanted to say something on the matter, after reading the post again, i saw that JonJon had tried pretty much everything, there was nothing else i could say.
Guess if you cant say anything, i shouldnt have said anything at all...

Ouch, that sucks. What model was it?

    Good luck getting it sorted.

It was an LWT19 or something, the 19" LG one with the thin grey border. "Flatron Wide" I think, it's been a while since I've seen it
