    Any official word re delivery delays?

    Could we please have an official announcement from a Scan representative about when normal service with respect to delivery and items dispatched to PDP will be resumed.

    If there is one on the forum someplace could some kind soul please link me as I could not find it using the search function.


    Background.

    Items ordered and supposedly shipped on the 3rd. My order was dispatched according to the emails and SMS on the 3rd. PDP delivered to my address three times in the last 5 days including Sat the 4th. It seems that there is a problem somewhere as the tracking details on the PDP website suggest the item was only due to be picked up on the 7th from Scan. And was collected finally on the 8th. Item is in vehicle for delivery today.

    The same thing seems to be happening with another order. According to Scan the order was dispatched but PDP have indicated that they have not collected the item as yet. Now either it is dispatched or it is not. Semantics I accept but it plays havoc with work schedules not knowing what is going on.

    I fully understand that the weather has brought most things to a grinding halt - but please inform us if there is a delay from the warehouse or PDP collecting from the warehouse.

    This forum is a handy medium for that communication.

    The reason the delay's are due to the weather, which is foretasted but still a variable, which is not entirely predictable. In addition the weather is different in different geographical areas so there is no blanket response, which can answer this question.

    If you can raise a new thread in the After Sales section with your invoice number we can speak to DPD directly to confirm the status of this delivery.

    Thanks Chris - but I think I did not express myself correctly. I have no problem with the weather situation at all as of course it impacts different regions in different ways.. And yes I do understand that you are not able to speak for PDP nor provide a blanket statement with respect to all regions. However that does not change the disparity between what the informational emails are saying and what the tracking details are saying. Now you guys are able to comment about that I am sure. Either PDP are picking up the parcels as your emails are saying they are or they are not.

    Edit. Having just spoken to the PDP chap (order from the 3rd delivered) - it seems that you guys are in the clear. PDP have been picking up and have not been up to the task of processing stuff at all. He has just said that heaps and heaps of parcels are just laying piled up and they are trying to get on-top of things but the company has a reluctance to offer overtime to clear the back log and this is causing a bit of a log-jam. I have paraphrased and cleaned up the language a bit. But you get my drift. So not your problem directly at all.

    But all good - hopefully things will return to your normal outstanding efficiency soon. I order plenty each month from you guys and never ever have a problem.

    There will be some discrepancies between our automated e-mails and the DPD tracking pages. The SCAN automated e-mails show the estimated dates of delivery and dispatch. The delay's due to weather, which are affecting the deliveries by DPD are published and updated daily on the DPD site. Our automated e-mails themselves are not linked in with these updates for the period the weather is causing these delays as the updates are too frequent for the automated e-mails to also be updated as frequently, however we have the Important Notice: through the Delivery section of our site

    Important Notice:
    UK MET office weather warning - Due to the extreme weather conditions there may be delays on receiving your order(s).

    Please keep an eye on Parcel Tracking to get specific information on your delivery time as some regions may be affected more than others - updated 03/12/10 )


    Our tracking e-mails take you directly to the DPD tracking page, which gives you the latest information so the two are linked in this way.

    The DPD update says my post code will be delayed by one day. That is quite a joke considering that my second order was dispatched on the 8th and it is still not on the van for delivery for today the 13th.

    Thank heavens I made a backup plan and ordered the same stuff from someone else, or I would have lost a customer. Just to clarify I do not blame you guys at all. Nor hold you responsible. SCAN has done exactly what it said it would. Process and ship my order as quickly as they humanly could and I value that. Your courier company is where the problem is this time round, down in Sussex they are having a torrid time it seems. We Southern softies are not used to the weather at all. The funny thing is the stuff I ordered was delivered next day by your previous courier company, and was ordered from a Vendor who is based further North than where you guys. Guess they have more capacity now after loosing your contract.

    I can not wait for normal service to resume from you guys. But there is some good that has come out of this experience I have been forced to shop elsewhere find new suppliers and that is a positive. I have been spoilt by you guys, so easy and quick to order I have gotten lazy.

    Item (not use of the single form) delivered, top of box open and only the case present. Plus damage to the side of the box. Have not checked the case completely as yet. Driver noted that the box was opened and that there was only the one item in the box.

    Ah well - this is a first for me so really can not complain too much considering how many orders I have placed over the years.

    Will do the appropriate admin in the morning.
