    Re: Its Mango Time!

Arghhhh I stupidly let my phone update last night so now I've lost HSPL and am running the 4.x bootloader... My plan when I get back to civilisation (currently in SA with a 3g dongle) is to flash one of the unlocked DFT Mango roms but now I'm going to have to revert back to my backup (lets hope that works) otherwise I'll get a brick.

In other news I still dont get all the hype around Mango, it's a bit better than NoDo but it's not revolutionary.

mango is a big improvement over 7, you might have to dig below the surface to appreciate it.

Sure it's an improvement over the original 7 (and 7.1 w/ copy/paste) but it still feels very naiive...

I'm going to return to Android just as soon as a decent handset comes out.. SGSII just isnt enough of an improvement over the 'previous-gen' - ie hd2/DHD/etc - phones.

WP7 is, I feel, in a similar league to iOS... for anyone who wants to have a phone and use it exactly as MS/Apply desire then go for it... but for anyone who is a member of Hexus who likes to tweak/geek/etc stuff, go for an Android device... WP7/iOS is just too restrictive.

    Re: Its Mango Time!

Here is a positive review of WP 7.5 from Guardian. Looks like WP platform could still be a dark horse imho.

    Interesting quote from the article:

As a piece of visual design, the operating system also known as Mango makes the iPhone's bubble-inspired home screen graphics look tired and out of date.
I thought this myself. The bubble style interface is also on Android too, I can't help feeling Android needs a proper interface refresh too rather than relying on Samsung and HTC to "putting another layer" on top.
I suppose my only two significant gripes with the WP platform is I believe the lack of Flash/Silverlight support and the relatively small portfolio of apps (correct me if I'm wrong).

Anyway its a brief interesting read.. have a look!

    Re: Its Mango Time!

Guys how much can we trust reviews these days?

We know many of them get paid to be nice about certain products in particular MS/Apple. Often I will be reading a blog and then decide to read comments under it, you can clearly see PR style posts whether it's Apple/MS.

If you believe that, I wouldn't trust any review of anything as you have no way to prove what you're claiming one way or the other.
