    AB9 Pro layout

Does anyone else think the layout on this board is rediculous? I have had to stretch my IDE cable to my DVDRW all the way to the top of my case (I can't move it down because I have a Zen and the top slot has an automatic slider door for DVDRW). But the thing that is troubling me is this - I cannot connect the cable from my front panel to FP_AUDIO slot on the motherboard because it is right next to the PCI-e and its too much of a stretch. Any ideas what I can do about this? I'd like to be able to use the audio panel on the front of my case!

    Thanks

The short answer to the front panel audio issue is to buy or make a longer cable. And yes, the physical layout of this board is not clever.

which is why they brought out the quad so soon after the Pro which pissed me off big time, but such is the nature of the beast

The QuadGT was introduced about six months after the AB9 Pro d3fiant, which isn't especially soon for a major rev/replacement as far as PC product cycles go.

In any case, as with anything in this market, you know whatever you buy is going to be replaced soonish, so don't let it get to ya

Only reason I chose this board was cause of my previous Abit NF7 was so impressive thought the AB9 series would be the same. Least when I move to Quad I can change boards!
