    AW9D-Max Wifi ---- Bios Flash

    Morning all,
Just got me the above board and very pleased.

    Got one question though.

I used One Click Live Update and the flash worked fine (yesterday). But.....it updated to version 13 dated 12/12/2006.
Why did it not update to version 14 dated 30/01/2007

Should it not update to most recent version?

One do you need to update the bios?
2 download the bios file to a new folder on your pc do a step by step update.
3 ensure you have unchecked the bootblock option in settings in flashmenu

Prior to this unplug the power clear cmos have a cuppa tea come back power up again. This ensure's everything is set to defaults.

Use Flash menu as described above.

I have flashed a few times using this method as advised by Master of None on the Abit USA forums and never had a problem.

The bootblock option if left at defaults seems to be causing problems with those that have an OC system or when it is done from dos or windows.

Scroll down and you will find Master of None's method.

Exactly, which is why I was pointing this out. Following MofN instructions and researching the Abit Forums on the USA site gave me enough info to do this without a hassle.
I am now running a P5B just to see what everybody raves about, TBH, I prefer the Abit for ease and simplicity in the bios.
Secondly the amount of support for Abit here and on the USA forum is far superior to any other mobo manufacturer.
