AB9 Pro Which board drivers to install with Vista

    Help

Am installing Vista Ultimate into new system

    AB9 Pro
    Sapphire X1950 Ultimate
    Intel 6400
    400gb Western Digital HD

Everything is so slow and keeps not responding

Is there a correct sequence to install motherborad drivers?
Which ones do I have to install?

    Thanks

I've got Vista Ultimate installed with that board.

To be honest, I just downloaded all the drivers off the internet but I can't remember the link. I didn't notice a change in speed to be honest, very strange even when I installed Vista on the stock speed of my CPU- worked absolotely fine and that's on an E4300.

Is your hard drive IDE or SATA?

I had problems with my abit board when installing drivers on vista. Stopped my whole PC working!

So what I had to do - plug mouse / keyboard into Ps/2 connectors to get them recognised... format PC. Reset bios. Set everything happy. Then:

    - download vista drivers off their website. Now it gets a bit confusing, because they'll have XP drivers called 'nforce chipset' and then vista drivers called 'nvidia drivers' - so you think they're two different things, and since there are no vista drivers you go with xp drivers. Don't, i d/loaded them and they're both the same thing, just someone was being a bit odd on the website.

One you've downloaded them all, install vista. Don't allow it to connect to the net yet. Install chipset drivers, restart. Install any hardware software (for example, now on my main rig i install intel matrix storage manager). Then just install the rest, and restart between each one (thats important). Also, don't run background tasks, as you want it to be written to the HDD cleanly.

I think you can get away with installing them haphazardly usually, but my abit seemed to be a bit fussy, so i just was extra careful second time round and it worked fine. You can get the drivers off their website. Also, there's never any harm in flashing the bios to the latest version as long as you feel comfortable doing it, I did it on my asus and things were instantly a lot nicer. (lots of behind the scenes fixes I guess from 1305 to 1905 lol)
