**Official ABIT AB9 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

First of all, sorry for my English!

In the following DAYs I' m thinking of buying a new Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q9550 and Intel® X25-M SSD "Postville" 80 Gb. But before i make the buy, I will like to know if ABIT AB9 GT supports that processor and SSD drive.

If someone is using the same motherboard in those two components please tell me how to instal or. what can i do, that those two components will work on my motherboard. New bios?

P.S. Is the BIOS ID:17 final version, or are there new-ones.

BIOS v1.8 is the latest. I think I have it somewhere

So no one has actually installed Q9300/Q9400 on AB9 QuadGT and lived to tell about it? Or even Q8300? I've been trying to find a replacement for my old E6600 and can't really afford a new MB atm..

I have installed Q9550 on my Abit Quat AB9 and it works like a charm. I used bios ver. 17.

Thanks for answering, though I already took the risk and bought Q9300 Seems to work fine, but there's something funny with the temperatures and Vcore voltages... RealTemp and Speedfan are showing approx. 55C idle temperatures, while BIOS and Uguru saying more like 35-40C. Also CPU-Z says Vcore=1,426v

I have just recently installed Win764 on my AB9 QuadGT and it installed all drivers except for one unknown device. Under Sound, Video and Game Controllers I have, 1. ATI High Definition Audio Device, and 2. High Definition Audio Device. I can't get any sound out of the analogue audio out jack on the back of the motherboard. I'm assuming that the unknown device is the AC97 Audio, but I can't get and drivers to install, keep getting an error "Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !! [Error Code : -0001]". I have downloaded the "r1.90" HD Audio drivers from Abit's website, and it won't even install. I have also downloaded the "6305_Vista_Win7_PG537" from Realtek's website and it won't install either, just keep getting the "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software", and if I select "Install this driver software anyway" it just keeps looping back to it.
I hope someone can help with this.

Just to confirm, with bios 18 even a Q9650 works fine on AB9 Quad GT.

I have setup 2 GB ram.But it does not work properly.
If i setup my ram on your idea and it maybe work excellent .

The file is still there, it's just in ABIT/AB9_QuadGT_V18.rar and not browseable.

Sending my beloved board off to a guy on hardocp and was researching what bios was in the thing.

Still have an IP35 Pro going.

What settings did you use, i cant get mine to save bios changes so cant boot.
