To SLI or not to SLI ????

    Hi
I have been playing about with my new machine and im totally blown away with the GeForce 7600 Fatal1ty card, the performance compared to my old graphics card is huge.
My question is how much of a difference would it make if i was to buy another, and connect via the SLI link on my Fatal1ty board?
or is this for situations when my machine starts to show its age (about 6 months?)

    Thanks
    Mark

You'd see potentially 100% but more likely somewhere around 50% depending on the game. If you want a boost, instead of buying another £100 card (I'm not sure about prices tbh), you should sell your current card, you'd get about £60 maybe, and put the cash together for a 8800gts where you'll see over 100% improvement for every game.

same again get the GTS if you can afford it. SLi is going to be game dependent ie SLi enabled, tbh even when they are there is an improvement but not what you may think you can get.

Sell your current card and buy a brand new faster card. I would agree, the GTS is very good value for money at the moment.

I think SLi is only worth doing if you have got 2 of the best cards out at the moment, so are getting performance that cannot be delivered by 1 card with current tech (eg by getting 2x 8800ultra in sli. no 1 card can match that). If you are thinking of doing sli with 2 midrange cards, you will almost always get better performance by selling you current card and adding it to your savings, then spending the money one 1 single decent card.
