Problem with FP-IN9 SLI and CD/DVD Drive

Hi, I'm currently having problems with my cd/dvd drive. The power led is on and it ejects so I know it's working, but it's not being recognized by my computer. I've tried 4 different ones and none of them worked. But I tried my friend's and his worked, but he doesn't know the make and model of it.

The drive that I really want to work is my Memorex MRX-525G CD/DVD Recorder.

I'm currently using:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 (1.86GHz @ 1066 FSB, 4MB L2 Cache)
BFG Tech GeForce 7900 GT OC 256MB GDDR3
DUAL OCZ 2GB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz
OCZ GameXStream PSU 700w

Also, what would you guys say is the most stable BIOS? ... 11?
If anybody knows any solutions that may fix my problem, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are any of the drives showing up in the bios or the device manager?

Beta bios 13 seems to be the best bios at the moment.

The drive is hooked up to IDE Channel 1, and BIOS is set to auto detect, but it's not showing up in either bios or device manager?

Is there a link where I can get that beta bios 13?

Also are any IDE devices being detected by you motherboard.

The only IDE device I am using is the cd/dvd drive, which is not being detected at all. My hard drive is connected to the mobo by sata.
