FP - IN9 problem with RAM

    Hello all.

I've just finished making my first build and had it working fine for about a week and a half, I was in the process of updating Windows XP which required a PC restart. I restarted the PC and when rebooting the bios screen appeared and told me that there wasn't any SLi ready ram detected. I haven't changed any of the settings on the cmos/bios, I haven't tried overclocking yet either. I have cleared the cmos several times all to no avail. When I do boot up there is the normal beep and then approximately 14 little clicks,( it's hard to tell how many there are they are all very fast). I've checked in the softmenu setup and next to SLI - Ready Memory is Not Detected instead of enabled or disabled so I can't choose to disable it.

I would be grateful if you could help.

    GFX card: Bfg 8800 GTX

clicks (as opposd to beeps) aren't good - sounds like a drive or PSU problem possibly.

I've checked now where the clicks are coming from, and they're definately coming from the mobo.

have you tried flashing it to the latest bios or even an earlier one to see if that sorts it

also try just one stick of ram in it and also do thingslike switch on without graphics card plugged in to see if you can get some kind of beeps from it

I have tried it without the graphics card plugged in and both sticks of RAM in it one at a time in all slotsbut still no success. I haven't updated the bios from the original version it came with. It won't let me update the bios either.

thanks for the help it was appreciated, but I have found out what the problem is now, the USB keyboard was causing the PC to not recognise the RAM but I've figured out that I just have to unplug the keyboard for booting up and plug it in later.

Once again thanks for the help.
