    Question IP35-Pro: USB2.0 Woes

    2 questions today :-D

    1) If I plug my cdwriter in the ports that come on that little extension panel you plug on the internal USB headers, windows warns me I'm plugging a hi-speed device in a 'low speed usb port'. I was under the impression that all USB ports on the IP35pro are USB 2.0. Was I mistaken?

    2) I need a lot of USB ports :-D. Where can I buy little extension cards like the one that comes shipped with the mobo? I tried ebay but not knowing the technical word I'm not getting any match.

    Thanks in advance!!

Does an enhanced usb contoller show up in device manager? Are you using XP 2?

It might be that the extension panel isn't USB 2.0 compatible.. I'd have thought the header was. The ones you can buy seperately are USB 2.0:

    Re: IP35-Pro: USB2.0 Woes

Good point - the USB bracket is described as a 'USB 2.0 bracket' so I guess it should be compatible.

In the device manager department I have a huge problem though. In Everest, here's what i see:
6 (six!) Intel ICH9 USB controllers
    2 (two) Interl ICH9 USB 2.0 controllers

Under each 'USB' controller I see a single "root hub". Each root hub has 2 ports. For 3 of the 6 USB controllers both ports are in use (with the correct devices I have plugged in specified). The 3 others are blanked.

Each 'USB 2 controllers' show one hub with 6 ports *each*. They are all blanked and unused.

Now I guess the only good question I can find at the moment is 'what gives?' :-D
Can anyone enlighten me as to how many and what kind of USB controllers should be displayed?
