    Abit IP35 Pro Sound Problems

I just recently built a computer using the Abit IP 35 Pro and Vista 64 Bit. I got it to post, but now I've been having some difficulty getting some sound from my speakers.

I initially tried using the r164 drivers, but they would not install properly. I then went to Abit's site and got the 180 drivers. That installed properly, but I'm still not getting sound with my speakers.

I'm somewhat new to computers and this is my first build, and I have NOOOOOOOOOOO idea what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cause I'm clueless...

Outside of installing the right drivers, I don't know what to do.

if you go into Device Manager are there any yellow !s?
There's a known problem across many mobos/mfrs with the Realtek HD drivers & the MS UAA driver so it could be that.

Agreed, although I havent found that problem with a abit board.

But since I review for other websites, I was sent a GBT X38 ddr2 version in for testing. This suffered from the exact same problem as you have just described above.

Update to the latest drivers sorted the problem.
