Question IP35-Pro mouise DOESN'T remain lit - help!

I have an IP35-Pro. I've just upgraded the BIOS firmware to the 14 revision, because I thought it might help but no...

I have a Saitek Eclipse II USB keyboard and a Logitech G5 (MII) mouse.

Regardless of what settings I use in the BIOS, when the machine shuts down, either completely off, S1 or S3, the power to the mouse and keyboard is switched off. This means I can't start the PC via keyboard or mouse.

I've tried setting USB keyboard and mouse to BIOS controlled instead of OS, but it makes no difference.

Everything else works fine, and the USB ports function as they should when windows is booted.

    Any help...please?

Re: IP35-Pro mouise DOESN'T remain lit - help!

Well, a friend of mine has the IP35-pro doesn't have this problem, and a previous poster has the opposite problem to me.
But I don't think there is anything wrong with the board, as I would have thought there would be other symptoms.

Anybody, any suggestions? Why the inconsistency with other ip35-pro boards, am I missing something?
    I don't see any jumpers...

Re: IP35-Pro mouise DOESN'T remain lit - help!

It may have something to do with voltages/power.
I have the original Saitek Gaming keyboard (the Eclipse I is the same without the pad) on my IP35 Pro & when in soft off state it's not got any LEDs lit - probably the current available isn't enough for it.
I believe that the G5 also is quite a power hungry device (i have an MS optical & it does stay lit)?

Anyway, iirc wake on from soft off only really worked reliably with PS/2 on abits.

    Don't know about your S1 & S3.

I have the seitek Eclipse 2 keyboard also, but with the Razer Copperhead mouse. Tested under Vista and XP withthe IP35 PRO with no faults.

Whilst im on the subject I have just recieved my IP35 Pro revision 1.10 (already have the 1.1) thanks to the hardwork of Sean at Abit. Just to backup my revious statement indeed the maximum front side bus is 750FSB compaired to 600FSB on the 1.1

So, are you saying that you CAN power on your ip35-pro with your Saitek Eclipse II? When the machine is off, does the keyboard stay lit?

I suspect Buff is right that the keyboard is power hungry. The manual does say that, especially for the mouse, its really for PS/2 devices, but I know others have had their USB mouses working.

Interesting. So its not just me then! Useful to know.
Its a minor irritation really. I have an Antec p-182 case on the floor so to turn on the PC, I have to bend down, open the door, and press the power button. I can live with that, but my wife finds it annoying to have to do that.

thought of getting a Guru Clock?
apart from displaying your hardware info at eye level you can power up/down from it.
    http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/sear...tle=guru+clock

the GC-02 hardware will work but the email alert type software won't.
    GC-03 is fully compatible.

So you're sure the GC-02 will work properly with the IP-35 Pro?

Same, but cos the P182 is so quiet my PC is always on except for when it dies, so it's not been a massive issue for me.

Yes thats true the P-182 is very quiet. I replaced the Tri-cool the fans with Noctua S-12s, which I plugged into the ip35's aux fan headers, and control through uGuru, so now its dead quiet.

I have the G5 mouse, but not a fancy KB, and the mouse stays lit. Is the PSU possibly a factor?

the hardware side will (as in displaying the info from uGuru on the screen etc.) but the software that does things like email alerts on it won't.

The GC-02 was designed for the 2nd generation uGuru chip & the IP35 Pro uses the 3rd gen. chip.
