Re: I cant get my q6600 to boot and stay stable past 2.8ghz any help

Doubt it will work as 680i isn't great for fsb overclocking without the GTL mod & that's why he's having the problem in the first place imo.

Slightly confused though as most people refer to 1:1 as being in synch which afaik he should be able to do if running linked.
If he means run his RAM at rated speed at 1:1 with CPU that would need 400fsb which he won't get with that CPU/mobo combo.
Can run memory unlinked on nForce though.

No, it's not easy & I'm not sure that 1 even exists for the IN9 32X.
or any advice where to get help would that run it at 3.0ghz to 800 ram 1.1
    I'm still confused as I can't see how you can run a Q6600@3.0GHz & 1:1 & have the RAM at DDR2 800.
Q6600@ 3.0GHZ (assuming that your setup can do it) & 1:1, yes (RAM would be at DDR2 667).
    Q6600@ 3.0GHZ (assuming that your setup can do it) & DDR2 800, yes (wouldn't be 1:1).
Just not all 3 together ...

Re: I cant get my q6600 to boot and stay stable past 2.8ghz any help

Right i get it. its me not thinking right at 3ghz the ram would be at 667 right.

in that case which 1 would be better

    2.4 to 800(Stock well nearly)
    or
    2.8 to 622 (Overclocked 1.1)

or is there any other that are better than these(heat is not a problem so can run 1.2 2.3 or wateve is the fastest)
    thanks david

and should i stop with vista 32 or move to 64bit

32 will use 3 - 3.5 gigg of ram then use the rest for graphics
64 will use all 4 gigg and do wat for me.

which 1 is better any advice Thanks david

the extra core clock will almost certainly be better than th eslightly higher freq RAM

32 will use 3 - 3.5 gigg of ram then use the rest for graphics
64 will use all 4 gigg and do wat for me.
32-bit it will use a large chunk of the 4th GB for addressing.
In 32-bit any 1 app can only use 2GB.

With 64-bit you have to check that your apps can run 64-bit & that drivers are available for ypur devices.

I would just get the FSB as high as you can stably then play around with the ram divider latencies etc.

FSB being high is a good prerequisite to a fast system though.
