    IP35 Pro and Windows FanEQ

Hello. I am trying to set the high temp setting for Sys fan, Aux 1-4 in Windows Fan EQ but it will not allow me to set it above 50 degrees. In the bios I can get to 75. Is this normal?

I want to set all the fans (except CPU fan) to run at 6v-12v between 55-60 degrees. But I can't get above 50. I have had previous abit boards and this doesn't appear to be normal behaviour.

    Any help would be apprciated.

    Spec:

    IP35 Pro
    Ballistix 8500 2GB
    Corsair 620HX psu
    Q6600
    SATA DVDRW pioneer
    Raptor 2 X 74GB
    WD 500GB
    8800GTX

Re: IP35 Pro and Windows FanEQ

I dont think its a good idea to have a temperature as high as 70c as your case / system temperature for your fans to start working properly. Reason being that if the surrounding air in your case is at 70c, then your CPU cooler is going to have a hard time keeping itself in check.

    I have my rig clocked to 3.4ghz (378mhz X9) with a Q6600... idle is 38 - load is 60-65c
System / Case temp is 38-42c depending on how long I run a stress test for.
At standard clocks (266mhz fsb X9, 2.4ghz) the case temp is 22c which is my ambient temperature.

If my system / case temperature was 70c inside, then my CPU heatsink would have no chance of cooling my CPU as the temperature around it would be so high already around it where its trying to cool from.

If you want to do this because noise is a bother, then I suggest replacing your case fans with silent models as generally the fans that ship with cases will be bog standard and loud, or getting a watercooling setup which will be 100% quiet.

Re: IP35 Pro and Windows FanEQ

Thanks for reply. My question is why can't I set the fanEQ temp above 50 in Windows. I have several other Abit boards and they allow me to go much higher.

All I would like to know please is whether other IP35 Pro users can go higher than 50 degrees in Windows fanEQ. Thanks.
