    got a core 2 duo in now a E6420

    going to put in a Q6600 whats best seting for this chip

    You won't have much luck with the Quad, it gets to around 300FSB then won't go higher :/

    so do i change the cpu or the board ??

    now i have a E6420 in runing at stock did have it ok at 2.7 ish lol

    The P35 chipset is the best for Quad overclocking, go for an IP35-E or IP35-Pro, But I think the 650i is OK for Duals, never tried it myself :]

    Don't know about the chips u mention, though there is a Q6600 with a G0 stepping which clocks a dream. Anandtech has the skinny: AnandTech: Intel Core 2 Q6600 G0 Stepping: Cheap Quad Core Just Got Better

    I've got the Fatality (bios15) and an E4300 clocked to 3GHz.

    Set the FSB to 1333MHz (333) leave mem at 800.

    I upped the voltages by about 2 increments across the board and all is well.
