    IX38 QUAD GT divider problems

Just to give official word on this problem

It is my beleif that this is NOT just limited to the IX38 QUAD GT. This is indeed a INTEL problem.

I have tested this on the Gigabyte X38 DQ6 (this boots but gets memory problems i.E out of round errors)

DFI X38 2TR LT (black screen not post)

Abit IX38 QUAD GT (as above)

    Problem

When using ddr21066 ram and all boards ofcourse detect as ddr2 800 and you have to change the divider to bump the speed upt to the rated memory speed.

I.E DFI 266/1066 this causes the board not to post with a black screen. If the board is left at ddr2 800 1:1 divider the board posts perfectly.

Aall the boards I have tested has the same problem. Thus this leads me to beleive that it is a chipset problem.

    The RAM i am using is Crucial ballstix DDR2 1066 (8500) @ 5-5-5-15 @2.1 volts

I will be speaking to some other RAM manufacturers to send me some Ram to confirm these results. However thus far, this seemS to be the case.

Granted the ix38 has a few other problems however this particular problem, I feel is an intel Issue NOT a abit issue.

quite a lot of abit's fall over when the in BIOS memory test hits 2GB.
Tbh I'm surprised that anybody actually uses it because one of the first things that I do on any mobo is enable fast POST (if it's not already default) & I think that the majority of people are the same.
