AW9D-MAX - Whats is actually compatible CPU wise?

OK.
This board is great and although older, i see no reason to bin it yet.
I have flashed to BIOS 1.6 and all went well.
So, i can take the E8400 and E8200 as per Abit CPU list.

Would it also take for example a Q9450?
Also, would it take an E8500?

These 2 werent on the BIOS update notes but arent they the same tech as the E8400 & E8200?

Any help is appreciated.

I thought that abit had said that Yorkfields wouldn't be supported (at least in the next BIOS)?
Possibly the reason that the E8500 isn't is the 1/2 multi?

So would the Q660 GO stepping be ok (bios rev16 only metions B3 stepping.

afaik yes, but don't expect great fsb overclocks on a quad (mid 300s probably iirc)

Im not a big overclocker tbh.
I ws just a little worried it wont be compatible.

Whats the diffrence between GO and B3 steppings then. Would that affect compatibility?
