    Abit EQ Error

I bought an IP35 Dark Raider to go with my quad core a couple of weeks ago (see my system). I'm running Vista 64bit and whenever I try and run Abit EQ it comes up with an error telling me to run it as an administrator the first time?? The only option is to click OK, which closes EQ.

I've tried right clicking it and choosing run as administrator. I've also activated the main administrator account thats usually hidden and running it from that. No matter what I do I get the same error message.

This is using the latest version of Abit EQ and the latest BIOS for my board.

Any ideas? Is this a 64bit issue?

    Re: Abit EQ Error

Is this specific to 64bit operating systems? I'm using v2.0.0.6 which says its 2000 / XP / Vista / 64bit compatible

They talk about the exact same issue , but relating to uGuru at the link below:

    Re: Abit EQ Error

I would install the latest version of uguru which includes the temp monitor etc etc, current version is 3.107 and works fine on my Vista Ultimate 64bit SP1 build and pre-SP1

Are you kidding me? SP1 has been released on windows update for some, but not all 64bit machines.

Its gonna be rolled out in March to everyone, but you can get it now for 32 or 64bit if you really want it.

    call urself an enthusiast

Vista SP1 went RTM last week, or the week before so its been doing the rounds on various sites. Some 64bit builds can see it via windows update if you first perfrom any outstanding updates which prepare the system for SP1. Some Vista builds will be specifically excluded if they have certain hardware which was found to be problamatic, hunt around sure u will find the list.

Ive been running it for a week now and it has made my Vista much more responsive, file copying and moving, a big Vista gripe of mine, is now working fine

    Re: Abit EQ Error

Actually I've just left Update on auto and only check manually when I can be arsed. Which, when I'm flying back and forth across the Atlantic every few weeks, isn't very often. I'll have to have a look when I get back home, which will be pretty late as I'm going to a pub quiz with the other ex-pats tonight.

    Re: Abit EQ Error

I always thought EQ was a pile of poo. But if you want to run it...

Check whether EQ is loading on startup and running in the background. I know it used to do that. uGuru certainly loaded on startup before I stopped it.

    Re: Abit EQ Error

I have posted the same probelm on further reading I have discovered that it may be due to the fact when you installed vista you did not set a password on you account therefore uGuru thinks you are not the admin for some reason.

Solution renistall windows!!! As setting a password wil not fix this

Re: Abit EQ Error Windows 7 64 bit Anyone with a cure

Posting here as well as cant add URL to other posting.
Abit KN9 SLI Abit EQ fails to work properly under Windows 7 64 bit
I did a search on forums and tried various drivers and been to Abit website etc.
Problem is when trying abit EQ using driver Abit EQ 2009 I can get the Abit EQ screen to display but not get any information like fan speed temperature etc showing up at all and wont display automaticaly like when using Win XP 32 bit Proffesional.
I did note some threads on Vista 64 bit and tried drivers from there with no luck.

So if anyone can help it would be appreciated.
