    Re: IP-35 and non boot

I knew it it was too good to be true, its doing it all over again.
Turned the PC on this morning and I get the same thing happening again, get to the Abit logo screen and it just hangs/black screen.

After a couple of times tring to get it to boot, it now is.
Some times it will stick at the Abit logo screen for around 40 seconds, then load windows, which takes about 15seconds. Other times it will load almost straight away after, with just a quick sight of the Abit screen, very bizare!

I've disabled the Jmicron controller, as its not needed, restarted the PC, and voila it booted and straight into windows, very quickly.

Just to make sure everything was working, I shut the pc down unplugged from the mains, left it for a couple of mins, then booted it up. It posts then nothing.

Restarted and now I carn't even get into the bios, just exactly what happened with the first board, what IS going on?

    try some other RAM.

when you get into the BIOS disable the abit flash screen so that you see what is going on during the POST process.

    Re: IP-35 and non boot

Have now tried two other sticks of memory (crucial and Corsair) with still the same result. If I unplug the PC for any lenght of time, it doesn't seem to like it one bit. After some fiddling about (like resetting the cmos) it will post and allow me access to the bios some of the time.

Disabled "Full Screen LOGO Show" option, but on reboot everything looks normal apart from booting into windows. What I don't get with this board is the 5 second beeps I was getting with the first board.

The thing is, if I up the mem voltage it decides to boot normally and on into windows. But as soon as I shut it down, pull the plug and restart it fails. But if I just reboot it goes straight into windows normally.

I'm beginning to wonder if it may be the PSU?

I get this problem also. I've been told that the IP35-Pro doesn't have problems like this, so I'm tempted to buy an IP35-Pro and get my standard IP35 returned to yoyo and refunded.

    Re: IP-35 and non boot

Well I have an IP35-pro .. and I don't have any such problems. Its been a breeze from the minute I had this up and running, no problems at all .. this is one of the reasons I was avoiding the ip35 DR and ip35-e .. most forums that do have posts complaining about the ABIT mobos talk about these in particular. There is very little mention of the pro causing hassle.
