    IP-35 and non boot

Have had this board now for 6 months or so and not had any serious problems with it till now. Switched it on this morning and now just stops after the first couple of screens. Tried to get into the BIOS, but that doesn't work, tried booting from my XP disc with no joy, anyone any ideas as to whether its the board or not?

    Re: IP-35 and non boot

Power off at the mains reset cmos take cmos battery out leave overnight to make sure. Reinsert battery and power up again.
This may work as it has for other people. No idea what is going on with the system but at least the above wont damage it any further.
All your bios settings will have reset to default so back in and set to your requirements.

    Good Luck

    Re: IP-35 and non boot

Right, I have now tried another working hard drive and the same thing happens, it boots to the Abit logo, and then stops.
I'll try resetting the cmos, overnight, seems like it may be the board.

    Edit:
I am now getting this error message: cpu is unworkable or has been changed please recheck CPU SOFT MENU !!

    Re: IP-35 and non boot

Well, yes that much is obvious, but what I want to know is, is it the mainboard or the hdd. I have tried another known working drive and ended up with the same result, which leads me to think it may be the mainboard.

that's normal on a new build or after clearing CMOS.
Once you setup & save the BIOS settings (remember to set the RAM voltage to OCZ recommendation) it should go away.

Unfortunately I cannot get into the BIOS to change anything, no matter what I do.
I have used 1 stick of memory in all the slots, swapped sticks. I do know they are ok, as have had them running on a similer pc. So I'm kinda stumped.

I have left the battery out all night, and still the same.

Perhaps see if Caps Lock or Num Lock lights light up on the keyboard to see if it's even recognising the keyboard?
