Exclamation E-Sata dive will not work with KN9 Ultra

Just connected an Antec MX-1 E-Sata case with a 500Gb WD drive to my KN9 Ultra AM2 NF5 board.
The dive cannot be seen by windows(where the others are).
It is seen in devices but with a yellow mark.
IF I connect it via USB then no problem.
It seems that Antec never said that it has problems with NVidia chip sets BUT it does!
    Suggestions please.

have you got the nVidia storage driver installed (their equiv. of AHCI)?
Tried another cable e.g. the WD Mybook cable is known to need trimming back a little.

    Yep.
    Nothin wrong with the connectors.
    Other eSata cases work ok.
It is a problem with that exact brand and certain Abit boards.

Is the HDD detected by the BIOS correctly (when it is connected before boot)?

You get a yellow mark in the device manager, but what are the details about that? Driver not installed? Or device cannot be started?

    no

I have a abit board ip35 pro to be honest, and I use mine with a WD external 1TB mybook. No issues at all.

As Buff has said have you tried the NVIDIA controllers at all?

going by your earlier comment it is a problem with that brand of external case & nVidia chipset mobos in general (which includes certain abit ones)?
If so & it's a known problem then it's really Antec (or perhaps nVidia's) problem to sort.
