    Error Code 05 IP35 Pro

I installed some additional memory this afternoon, exactly the same make and model as the existing, upgraded from 2gb to 4gb. When i boot i now get a blank screen on the monitor and error code '05' on the LED display. I have cleared the CMOS already (using the switch on the rear) which has not made a difference.

I have tried the new memory on its own, which works fine - as does the old memory but they won't work together. I have checked votages/timings all correct.

    Any ideas?

Edit: I'm using 4x1gb sticks, 3 sticks (3gb) seem to work just fine.

have you increased Vmch at all?
There is a good chance that your Ballistix may not be the same as they changed from double-sided to single-sided with different modules.

Re: Error Code 05 IP35 Pro

my ddr voltage is 2.1v as recommended by manufacturer, the mch voltage is 1.25v which i believe is the default - should i need to increase this and if so by how much?

Since the last CMOS reset I'm now getting a different error code, C5 'Call Chipset Hook to copy BIOS back to E000 & F000 shadow RAM' any idea what that means and why the error has changed? Afaik nothing else has changed on the board.

The memory modules are matching - i'm certain of that - and they do work together - just not all at once, makes no difference which three modules i use.

Yes..The issue is using all 4 sticks together - doesn't matter which four. I suspect it is conflicting with my graphics card.

Re: Error Code 05 IP35 Pro

1.29 or 1.33 are your next two MCH voltage options, running 4 sticks I would set it to 1.33.

Re: Error Code 05 IP35 Pro

Stripped the machine down this afternoon and rebuilt it, trying one stick at a time, and now it works - no idea why. Anyway problem solved.

Had a couple of BSOD's but i think that has been resolved by relaxing the timings slightly. If i encounter any other problems i will try raising the mch slightly as suggested. Thanks for your help.
