Exclamation Abit IP35 Pro XE on E8400

Hello, a friend got these parts along with a pair of two Corsair XM2 2048-6400C5 memories and we can't get it to boot, it stays at "C1" post (which is related to Ram or L2)

We tried clearing the bios, switching the memories on all the slots... one by one and we got nothing.

We tried the CPU on another MoBo and it worked, we also tried the memories in the other computer and they worked as well. We tried an older C2D on the MoBo (2.23 Mhz one, can't remember the model) and it didn't boot as well, stuck at C1.

Any ideas? Is the mobo good? Should we just change it?

    Please Help!

    Thanks!

it's probably the RAM.. most motherboards only supply 1.8v to the RAM at standard, when most sticks need something like 2.1 - 2.2v
got any other RAM you can use to get into the BIOS and change the memory voltage?

The memories work at 1.8v, version 3.1 (at least that is what the sticker says, lol)

We also tried some older ones (667 Mhz sticks) and still got a C1 error. :S

my memory is supposed to work at 1.8v but it doesn't..
i'm not saying that it's definitely the memory voltage that's the problem though..
it could well be the motherboard that's the problem.
    good luck it though

Heh, the ram sticks weren't the ones with problem, or the CPU. It was the mobo that wasn't working, weird but who knows, weird things happen always!

Anyway, we changed it and now it's working perfectly except that when we turn it on it keeps beeping on FF... when the computer starts.

    That's normal? D:

    Thanks!

FF is the final code in the sequence. It basically means ALL SYSTEMS GO!
If the system is fully functional now, and displaying FF, then all is well.
If it is flashing FF from the get-go, then there is a problem.
I've had non working boards start with code FF as the result of a faulty or borked BIOS chip.
