FAO: Sean - Abit IP35 PRO - New Revision 1.1 - What Changes?

    Sean,

I noticed on the U.S Abit Forums that someone has recently recieved a 1.1 revision of the ABIT IP35 PRO, which came with the new released Bios 1.4.

Can you tell me or find out what changes have been made to the actual motherboard since the original 1.0 revision? i.e. V Droop improvement? or any other significant changes to the actual motherboard?

Would be very greatful if you could let me know.

    Regards,

Still haven't got any new information, but I have been told that new revisions only effect the PCB layout. This means there may not be any differences in performance between revisions.

Bonus points for high-res images of each revision.
Turbo super points for an overlay image of the two boards.

Here are photos of a v1.00 and v1.10. I do not notice a difference.

Bill Parrish of the HardForum community noticed that the clock IC is different.
I added closeup pictures of the clock chips on the v1.00 and v1.10 PCBs.

Has anyone tried both motherboards? Does the 1.1 revision clock any better or anything in terms of peformance?

Re: FAO: Sean - Abit IP35 PRO - New Revision 1.1 - What Changes?

I have been told by abit HQ that the changes on the new revision will not affect performance in any way what so ever. The changes were made for manufacturing purposes only.

Post Re: FAO: Sean - Abit IP35 PRO - New Revision 1.1 - What Changes?

I am guessing BIOS 14 added support for the different clockgen IC on the rev 1.1 motherboard.

I have a 1.1 board and notice the FSB has a maximum value of 750. Does a 1.0 board updated to a v14 BIOS have this same maximum?

Currently I have a x3220 CPU (VID=1.30 v) running with stock Intel cooler with
    BIOS settings of FSB=334 MHz, CPU Voltage 1.35 v, MCH 1.33 v, DDR2 2.0 v.

I have not run stress tests yet other than playing LOTRO. At Idle and ambient 24 C, uguru 1.05 shows CPU is 28 C and PWM is 39 C.

I don't know what can use FSB=750. I will not be overclocking my x3220 to 6.75 GHz.

Mate it is correct. 600FSB only on the 1.0, this is not noticeable unless cooling with LIQUID nitorgen or dry-ice. 1.1 is 750fsb again not noticeable for even the die-hard w/c fan such as myself.
