Unhappy abit aw9d max ram problem

good afternoon all, i have recently purchased another 2gb of ram for my comp, upon installation i recieved a BSOD as this was 2 in the morning a left it and have only now had chance to look.

today i started by removing one of the modules to see if it was faulty....windows booted fine!!!
to see it this was actually faulty i swapped it with another module.....windows booted fine. so i reinstalled this module (back up to 4gb) and i get the lovley windows failed to load screen, recent hardware change blah blah

file: XXX (this has changed , first was ntoskrl so was quite worried...at present is winload.exe) oh stating checksum error..... so obuously something is getting currupt!!! but why and how do i solve this???

it does say try the repair on the windows disk...but i have never had luck with them

    running vista 64 hprem
e6600 (if anyone would like to donate a q6600 i would appreciate it lol)
    4gb corsair dom pc8500

iirc there was a problem with Vista failing to load with more than 3Gb, have you got the patch?

have you got the RAM voltage/timings set properly & did you increase Vmch at all?

My last board was an AW9D-MAX and i had 4 x 1gb of OCZ PC6400 running in it. Also had Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit running aswell.

Do you have the latest BIOS update?

Re: abit aw9d max ram problem

Shouldn't be any trouble running 4 stix with the right MCH.
It takes quite a bump with that.
I've noticed that when I run 4 on my AW9.
If that doesn't seem to work, then the ICs could be severely mismatched.
