    AW9D MAX with 1TB drive

I just bought a Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1TB SATA hard drive but it doesn't seem to be recognise when going in the bois or in windows. Does this motherboard support larger hard drives (happy with my 250, 500 and 750GB ones)?

Am I being stupid and need to do something before breaking the 1TB mark?

    Thanks for any help.

Re: AW9D MAX with 1TB drive

I just purchased two Samsung 1TB drives and both seem to work on my XP system. You may need to go to Control Panel-Adminstrative Tools-Computer Services and click on the Disk management link. This will allow you to prep and format the drives for windows and assign a drive letter.

I have not been able to set up my drives in a Raid 1 configuration off of the Sil controller, am currently looking for help on that score. It may be that the drives are too big/new to work in a Raid setup.
