so is that a no i wont be able to get a 45nm chip to work then?
Like you said, results are mixed...... its a crap shoot. You could always buy the CPU first, try it and if its a no go then purchase a new motherboard. Even if it works you may have temp recognition issues. Many complain they can get the CPU's to work but BIOS reads an extremely high temp.

Il see how the next few days pan out with the Phenom II chips but might get a Q6600 instead.
I'd certainly go with a Q6600 with that board
I tried an E8400 in it with limited success @ stock
