Whilst the Abit IP35-E is suppsed to support 45nm i have heard mixed things about it. Which CPUs can and cant i use or is it time to sell and move on?

Like you said, results are mixed...... its a crap shoot. You could always buy the CPU first, try it and if its a no go then purchase a new motherboard. Even if it works you may have temp recognition issues. Many complain they can get the CPU's to work but BIOS reads an extremely high temp.
