post c1 error on ip35 pro

    Hi all.

Last night while i was using my pc i recieved a windows error message, the message stated that there had been an error and that if i had not seen this message before then i was to reboot.
So i rebooted, but my reboot did not get past the Power On Self Test.

The error message that showed was C1.
    C1= Detect memory.

I spent the next few hours seaching the net for an answer to this problem (on my very old 2nd pc), i found a few answers in threads that i read.

    Steps i have taken.

Removed all none essential items from my pc ... sound card / ethernet card / dvd drive and hard drive.
Reset cmos and took battery out.
Removed both sticks of memory, then tested each one in all slots (reseting cmos as i moved from slot to slot).
Removed battery and reset cmos then waited over 2 hours before trying again.

Yet still the problem remains that i cannot boot past POST without it staying on C1.

    System specs

    ip35 pro m/b
3.0 6850 duel core intel cpu
    500g sygate h/drive
    2x cm2x2048-6400c4dhx corsair memory
    akasa 850 watt psu 3870x2 g/card

Fingers crossed that someone can help me.

Sounds like you've tried everything I could recommend tbh... The only thing I can think of is find some other sticks of memory that haven't been used in your PC before, and try them.

As per format's suggestion, give a stick of known good memory a go, or else try your current ones in another system. More likely to be blown RAM than a naffed motherboasrd. How much vDIMM were you running btw?
    BH6, BX6 2.0, BE6, BE6-II 2.0, ST6-RAID, BE6-II 2.0 (again), BD7-RAID, BD7II-RAID, IC7-G, IC7 Max3, AB9 QuadGT, IX38 QuadGT. IX58... Oh, b*ll*cks. RIP Abit

Re: post c1 error on ip35 pro

I returned my pc to the firm where i had purchased the parts for it from.

After explaining to there tech support what steps i had taken to try to fix it the problem they knew straight away that it was my memory, so they exchanged my memory and my pc booted.

    All good now

    Thx for trying to help.
