    IP35 Pro Network driver issue

Im running Vista Ultima X64 on this board and have been having BSOD problem with specific reference to ndis.sys. Vista identified it as a problem with the driver - stock Microsoft 2006 driver. I noticed that it would give me this problem if I was connected to Vista server via remote desktop, transferring large files over LAN and sometimes just out of nowhere. Hence, I've decided to update the driver but...

I've tried downloading a few updates but the installation is such a painful process. I've tried using manual Have disks method, autoinstaller, uninstall the microsoft stock and reinstall, it keeps giving me code 10 error - device cannot start. Hence, I cannot get any network connection out of it.

Please help me out coz I've been having this problem for months now and it's driving me nuts. And to me as a first time Abit user, this board sux!! Didnt have such problem with ASUS or Gigabyte.

unfortunately that's down to the OS, you can't lay the blame on abit for MS.

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750

thanks buff. But could you be more specific please just in case it helps to solve the problem? Like is there any feature in Vista that needs to be tweaked or turned off to go around this coz Im using the same vista on my gigabyte D965P DS3 without any hitch.

Thus I need to know if any other Abit IP35 users are facing the same problem, and if there's any solution. If other users are not facing it, it could be due to DOA, I dont know.

I use Vista Ultimate x64 also, but never seen any BSOD related to the network.

I think im using the Realtek drivers linked to from one of the posts in this forum.

Windows Update keeps offering a new one, but ive ignored it for now.

Mind you, I also have one of the NICs disabled in the bios.

Did you get it from here -> http://forums.hexus.net/abit-care-he...ers-64bit.html

My question is - after windows installation, which driver did you start off with? Is it the stock Microsoft or the one ABIT supplied in the CD. And after that, how did you update it? Did you use the auto installer or just click update and find the file?

Appreciate your reply coz Im using the stock Microsoft one (dated 2006) but occasionally get BSOD especially when downloading large files over Gigabit LAN or connected to Vista remote server. It's just killing me.

But it takes a lot of trying to get it as half the time the Realtek site doesnt work properly.

I installed the driver that was in the zip i downloaded from Realtek, and since then there was at least 1 or 2 updated versions posted on Windows Update.

Im using an IP35 Pro, is there a difference between the NIC on it and the one on the XE?

Re: IP35 Pro Network driver issue

No difference at all, i am also using IP35 pro board, I got my drivers with ease from Realtek site, unfortunately havn't done enough posts to put the link in yet

I find site 3 generally downloads best and as you will see latest driver is 6.216 2/8/2009

Give it a try I hope it solves your problems it works for me.
