Abit Ip35 and Intel E7400 problem

I used to have a e2140 cpu, but recently i bought a E7400 cpu. I instaled it and in the bios i see it like this "intel Core 2 Extreme CPU X>683" and it works only at 2040 MHz. I flased my bios to 18 (had 17) still no change and a few problems appeared like computer restarted it self before enterig windows, i've clear the Cmos and finaly the computer started, but the cpu is still not the right model.
CPUz tell me is ""intel Core 2 Extreme CPU X>683" with L2 cache of 1024 kbytes not 3096.
Can anyone help me with some ideas.



my config is :
Abit ip 35, Intel E7400, 2*1Gb corsair ddr2 pc6400 cl4, ati radeon X1550, hdd seagate 160 Gb Sata II

Thank you for the answer, tha last bios update i tried is version 18 from abit global site.
I will try this update for IP35 (-E) from the list you gave me(i belive thas is the right one for my mobo),and i will come back with an answer later this day.

I just flashed my bios to the beta version For intel E0 stepping processors and it didn't work.Still not E7400 processor in bios, the same as before.

My processor stepping is R0
