Exclamation AN-M2HD bios problem - help please

    AN-M2HD X2 5000 BE 4x1gb Gskill DDR2 800 onboard 7050pv ide Benq dvdrw sata 36gb WD Raptor sata2 WD 640gb Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid

Since I updated my bios to the newest which is m628a_20.bin when I turn the computer on it turns on and off many many times then finally starts up working just fine. It does this every time you turn it on from an off state. I have tried to contact ABIT with no success. Has anyone had this problem or heard of this problem? Does anyone here have this motherboard with this bios on it that does not do this that is starting up normally when turned on? Any help would be most appreciated. I am new here and this is my first post. Thanks

Hi, I also have this problem since I upgraded my video card. Maybe your PSU isn't powerful enough?

I have replied to similar problems elsewhere on this board, you could read those but to sum it up, pop out the bios chip, power cycle, pop it in....... worked for me! what have you got to lose (I know its an old post but just in case...)

Re: AN-M2HD bios problem - help please

I still have this board with this problem. I will give your suggestion a try. The problem started for me after a bios update. I tried going back to the previous bios but it still did it. Coincidence maby, not sure. Unfortunately I don't think Abit finished fixing all the bugs before they were bought and disolved into oblivion for therer equipment by scientific atlantic who I believe bought them. Abit was a good company what a shame! Thanks for your suggestion. I will post back if it works. Does anyone have any other bios for this board?

I've got an FTP server set up with a backup of the entire abit FTP from before they shut the doors.

    ftp:// 91.121.194.115/pub/download/bios/anm2hd/

V20 (m628a20.zip) is the newest one, dating from 07/31/2008

Sorry.. can't post the link properly cause I don't have 5 posts yet..
Just remove the space in front of the "9". Should work fine.

Universal Scientifiy Idustrial. Or short USI (.com.tw)

That's why it wasn't just "abit" in the last couple years of existence, but "Universal abit"

BTW: anyone else having ridiculous amounts of trouble with the hexus forums? Pages either never stop loading (or never load at all) or it's ridiculously slow (loading a thread taking 5mins at least) O.o

Re: AN-M2HD bios problem - help please

which did you try, the new bios (20) I thought they stopped at 19 so maybe I should try that but I have had good luck since I fiddled with the bios chip (took two times but several fine boots later and still running sweet)

    hexus working fine for me.

So did your problem disappear with either solution?

THANKS for the bios link!! I got 20 now and will keep it until my boot problem comes back. always scary to change bios.
