    cannot boot

    board: abit ip35 pro
CPU: intel core 2 quad q6600
    RAM: g.skill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ

I cannot boot the computer. I cleared the cmos many times, and reconfigured the RAM correctly. Now it just hangs at the part where it says "verifying DMI pool data..."
It never reaches the part where it's supposed to look for boot devices.
Could it be some settings problem in the BIOS?

This computer has been working perfectly before.

    Thanks for the help.

    Re: cannot boot

seems hardware problem,I would start ,as suggested above - from checking memory settings

Is memory set to default values ? What's the voltage for it?
Is the cpu overclocked ? You cannot set the memory unlinked with P35 so what's the memory ratio v fsb ?

If you are sure that settings are fine - Can you check the memory with e.g. memtest?

    Re: cannot boot

Did you do anything hardware wise before this started happening or was it just out of the blue?

    Re: cannot boot

this is probably useless info but with my abit board if i leave my external HDD attached to the USB port when i turn off the computer the drive wakes when the system is powered on and will always hang at the DMI pool page until it is powered down or disconnected. might be worth disconnecting all non essential devices.
