IP-35 Pro Cannot Boot - Post Code F7

    Hi there,

I've had this mobo for a year and a half or so and it's always worked great. Yesterday I installed windows vista, and all the typical software and such. This morning I installed Call of Duty World at War and when I started up the game, all of the sudden the video was gone. I could still hear the game but no more video. Now, it's not the monitor because I'm still getting the No Input Data and Signal disconnect warnings on the monitor. After rebooting I still had no video and now I can't do anything.

Anyway, I initially figured the video card must have died, but I'm getting the post code 7F and even with the video card removed, all but one stick or ram removed, nothing else plugged in, I still get that code. I have cleared the CMOS at least ten times now and like I said I've unplugged everything but the essentials.

    Can anyone help?

    Update:

I tried removing the battery and leaving the CMOS in the clear position for an hour, still no luck. I turn on the computer, all the fans run properly but it just gets back to the 7F code. I'm frustrated, someone please help?

Four hours and not one suggestion? Thanks for all the help Abit!

Update: I've tried using a different battery for the CMOS, still no change.

Abit's motherboard business has folded, unless someone can help you out with this problem your going to have to get a bew notherboard, which id suggest you do anyway.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    F7 or 7F?
if it's 7F try hitting the F1 key & see if it proceeds further.

Re: IP-35 Pro Cannot Boot - Post Code F7

It doesn't proceed when I do that. It's not even booting, I get to that error code and that's it. It is 7F.

Edit: Perhaps I spoke too soon, I tried this again and now I get the code FF, but still no video. FF means free of faults, but like I said it still isn't working.

Thank you for the suggestion Buff

I'm guessing this means it is the video card that's dead. Does that sound right? I don't have another to test, but I could buy a cheap one. Just want to know if someone with more knowledge than I thinks that's probably what it is.

I have seen this fault a few times on this board. I bought a new PSU and it worked.
The old PSU works on other PC so this board is just flakey.
    Good luck mate.
Like someone else suggested I would consider buying another board If I were you.

the fact that it's hanging on 7F then progressing to FF when you press F1 says to me that the board is OK.
that leaves something else as the problem & the fact that you are getting no signal obviously points to gfx. However, usually a gfx card error brings up code 25 ...

it's at times like this that it helps to have access to spare parts (even friends') for swapping & troubleshooting ...
