Flashing Red 3VSB Light on the Motherboard

    Hi guys,

Out of the blue my P.C won’t power on anymore. Nothing kicks in to life. The P.C is completely dead. None of the fans kick in either.
What I noticed is the 3VSB on the motherboard is flashing red constantly and really fast until I switch the P.C off from the mains then it goes off.
I checked all cabling, re seated the memory just nothing works.
I have a funny feeling that my PSU has died but wandered what other people thoughts are on this.

What is strange is I have a Razor mouse which lights up blue when it is on. If I have that plugged in and the p.c is connected to the main the light from the mouse is flashing constantly when it should be static.

I haven’t added any new hardware for 2 years. Also I don’t have a spare PSU to test.
I would really appreciate your help on this as I love to get my p.c up and running again.

    Specs are

    Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard
    OCZ GameXstream 850w PSU
    8800GTX Graphics Card
    Q6600 CPU
    2GB Ram

    db298,

I did replace the PSU and that fixed the problem. Luckily mine was under warranty. If you do have a spare PSU lying around or can borrow one then it would be worth trying that before u buy one. Let me know how u get on.
