i can't seam to get my corsair 2gb ddr2 xms6400 twinx to run at 800 mhz.
cpuz shows 270 mhz and 400 mhz with different timings in both slots, with one stick installed i still get readings of 270 and 400?
does the board simply not support this memory?

Do you mean the memory is running at 400Mhz

if it's running at 400MHz that's correct as it's dual data rate i.e. polled twice the real bus frequency - 2x400=800

    Thanks for the replies

in cpuz's timings table (spd tab) it shows slot 1 as 270 mhz at 4-4-4-13-15 and 400 mhz 5-5-5-18-22.

it shows the same in slot 2.

bios is set to ddr2-800 and 5-5-5-15 timings.

should they not both be 400 mhz ?

If I'm understanding you right, no.
The RAM has 2 different SPD settings, 1 for 533 & 1 for 800 & CPU-Z is showing you both.

that's kind of left me confused . are you saying that cpu- will show 3 figures if ady-p was using higher ram . Could you expand a bit.

    awd max

Read spec for board and looks like it only supports 667& 800 ddr2 so still confused by Buf's reply. I would like to know as I am hoping to buy one of these abit boards in the near future.

I wrongly thought that i was getting 670 mhz instead of 800, by adding both chanels together.

    Thanks
