    AB9 QuadGT reviwed at *n*ndt*ch

Hi folks, ordered an AB9QGT at Scan t'other day, so was interested to read AT's review here (when are Hexus getting one?!).

Great to see the overwhelmingly positive comments, but equally note that the 1.0 BIOS, and integration with the uGuru utility, come in for some criticism, as does the perennial JMB363.

I note that a newer version of the uGuru utility has been released since the review was written, so do you know if this addresses the issues raised? Would also be good to know when the next BIOS is upcoming.

Also, obvious question, but any pointers on when stocks will be going out to the UK resellers?

Any idea where I'll find it BUFF? Nothing on Abit's FTP - at least that I can see!

Bookmarked, thanks BUFF. I see the readme on the QGT beta doesn't specifically mention the issues raised in the review. Either way am looking forward to gettin one in hand.

OK an update folks I will be receiving a AB9 Quad GT in the next day or two, if you will allow me until the following Monday to have a review out for you, I will be greatful.

I will post initial findings sooner though!

Hi mate, have a couple of requests if possible?
Can you do some FSB testing on the board please. Basically need to know if it'll run 550FSB and higher and what strap its running. I've heard this board (as with the DFI 965 board) might run the 1066 Strap to well over 500 FSB can you confirm that too?
Voltage options along with vDroop would be great if you can also.

agreed, I'm waiting on 1 too

highland3r, it's doing 500+ on the 1067 strap but I don't think that it's managed to get upto 550+ yet stable - more ~525-530 so far.
Vdimm is supposedly 3.0V+ plus a ref adj.

Meh, not enough then. No way of running 1333 strap on it at all?

Can you point to where it answers the question mate?
Any chance of a Johnny esq review? Most people aren't faffed about adding extra cooling and other such pointless stuff. Interested in performance, quirks overclocking etc. Voltage droop, FSB holes stuff that's actually useful when deciding whether to buy the board or not...

Spose cooling is an issue for extreme overclockers such as yourself, but for us "normal" people other stuff is more important

pop over to the abit-USA forums.
The USA had the boards a few weeks before Europe & there are a few people there running them.

seeing as you got an AB9 to 512fsb lord knows what you'll get a QuadGT to ...

Cheers bud. Looks like 500FSB is possible with the 1066 strap, just need a way to kick it over to the 1333 strap and should be onto a winner FSB wise.
Quite shocked at how well the new rev 965 chipset's running now. 500+ FSB on the AB9 was a real struggle, and now the likes of the DFI and the Abit boards (and others?) are managing 500 FSB+ stable easily on the same strap!

Just awaiting confirmation that the 1333 strap is possible (bios update perhaps - sean are you able to advise on this at all? Anyone at Abit contactable about a modded bios if the options not available as standard?)
Would really rather not spend out on yet another board if it's not gonna offer anything FSB wise over the P5B. Someone get one and give it a good ragging please!
