    HD6970 recommended air coolers

Okay basically my current stock vga cooler isn't too good. Whenever I played games, say 2hrs+ solid vga card temps near 90 degrees.

It would be fantastic if someone could recommend an air cooling kit. I've come across many on the internet but they all lack support for HD6900 series.

    Thank you.

The cards are capable with dealing with 90+ temps, if you are worried Artic do 2 coolers for the 6970.

    http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/assistant/vga/chip/2

Their is one on ebay for around £50

Iv'e used them in the past for a cheap PSU and returned stuff so should be fine.

Review on a 480, bearing in mind they run extremely hot theirs a drop of over 30c.

Looks like the standard one doesn't come without the heatsink kits, its just the cooler itself then you pick the heatsink pack, were as the 2 version comes with a pack of heatsinks.

    Re: HD6970 recommended air coolers

You might want to consider the air flow in your case. If your graphics cards are pulling in stagnant or slow moving air (that has had time to heat up from the various components in your case) then no matter what cooler you get it wont be working efficiently.

So if you add a fan or 2 to your case (or replace cheap ones), you could see a few degrees drop across the board.
If upgrading look for fans with high CFM (Cubic feet per minute) values (90+ for 120mm), don't just rely on RPM values.

Oh and a side fan right next to your GPU would be the best bet.
