CP-850 Buzzing when soft off

Bit of a weird one. The PSU buzzes when the PSU is turned on but the computer is off (soft off).
Interestingly enough, the buzzing isn't present in S3 mode. It's almost as if it's unhappy without any load going through it. ?

Buzzing is actually not correct, it's more of a tinitus/flashbang (without the bang) kind of sound.
It's not a huge issue as generally my computers either on or in sleep mode but I'm still curious as to whether this is expected behaivour or not.

Any ideas? Any other owners with similar noises? Worth RMAing? I don't really fancy it, Antec won't pay for the shipping afaik and I'd be without computivity whilst it's away...

Sorry for the inconvenience. It sounds like the noise comes from the standby transformer. This is not dangerous or whatsoever. I would suggest you to keep it for now and if it really annoys you then RMA it. In any case, write me a PM in the future and I will take care of the RMA.

You addressed my biggest concern, which was safety. It's good to know that this doesn't present a hazard or have potential to go bang.

Like I said, my computer is usually on or is in S3 and the issue is not present under these circumstances so the annoyance is mostly a non issue.
