    Question h2o 620 in lanboy

i have mounted the antec kuler h2o 620 in the rear of the antec lanboy air.. the case recommends that all the fans are intake fans.. but the watercooler recomends that i use the fan as a exhaust fan.. so i'm not sure if i should let the fan blow the air through the radiator into the case or let the fan suck the air through the radiator out of the case

    plzz reply^^

I have the same cooler but diff case, i have the fan pulling air through the radiator and expelling it outside the case.

    Hi wawiwa, Hi VF12,

There is a cool article at Antec Blog, exactly about this matter that you might want to read: http://blog.antec.com/cooling/asetek-air-flow-matters/

You guys should definitely try to install the fan pulling air into the case through the radiator. You will most likely see improvements in cooling performance!

Let us know how it goes.

    Best regards,

i tried that but i doesn't fit.. the radiator doesn't fit at the back of the case.. it can only be placed if there is something like a fan between the back and the radiator.. =( neither does it fit anywhere els in the case (tubes and stuff)
so i think i have to let it push the air through the radiator into the case instead of pulling, witch doesn't cool as much as i wanted it to.. or get another fan so it will both push and pull, witch will sound more.. and cost more.. =S

Sorry, but I do not see the problem here. You can just install the fan between the back and the radiator, and let it pull air from the outside through the radiator and into the case.

Check for two small arrows on one of the fan's sides indicating in which direction it rotates and in which directions the air flows. Install it with the airflow arrow pointing into the case and you should be good. No need for an additional fan.

Let me know how it goes, or if you need further explanation.

    Thanks for info

i will give it a go, each of 4 cores (i7 2600k)are idling around 30dec C with a room temp of 22deg C. will report back when i have had time to change em round as space is restricted in my case due to Ram etc....

(Old set up) fan mounted at top of case pulling air through radiator and expelling through top of case, rear fan expelling air outside case, front fan pulling air in to case.

Right have changed the fans around and presently i have the fan mounted on the rear of the case, pushing air through the radiator and into the case, front fan is expelling air out the front of the case and i have another fan mounted at the top of the case pushing air in ..... at first glance temps are the same, running AV at the moment but will look at idle temps and load temps later this evening....

    Re: h2o 620 in lanboy

ok i installed and tested the cooler on my amd phenom x4 965 CPU.. with the air blowing though the radiator into the case.. i'm happy with the results for now.. in idle the temp is around 25 - 35 and in ful load around 45 C. (stock cooler: idle 30 - 40, load 55 - 62)
And this cooler makes alot less sound then the stock one.
I might overclock it a little in the future.
    anyways thanks for your support.

    Hi wawiwa,

That sounds really great. I am happy to hear that you could achive good results with setting up the fan blowing air through the radiator and into the case. You definitely have room to overclock, should it become necessary, but you already got a beast for a CPU there that should perform quite well without overclocking it just yet. Anyways, let us know how it goes, if you should decide to give overclocking a go. Also you might want to give a push pull layout another thought. The temps should improve even more!

    Enjoy your setup!

Not seen much of a change if any...might try with a push/pull if i can fit another fan in, if space allows and see how that goes.

    Re: h2o 620 in lanboy

just one further thing, the fan seems to be very noisy (vibration) like the bearings have gone...its only a few weeks old, worth changing? or any chance of a replacement??
i have tried different fixing positions and tightening / lossening screws but still...just a noisy fan!

    Hi VF12,

It could be a problem with the bearings. If the cooler is only a few weeks old, you should consult the retailer where you bought the cooler for a replacement or warranty procedures first. Let us know how it goes.

    Hi VF12,

Unfortuantely we can only do complete replacements as well at the moment . Your best bet is to have the exchange done through Scan, although it is not the best solution for you. Another option is to spend some money on a new fan that you will use with Kühler H2O 620.

Just thought id reply before i get caught in the ash cloud

Thanks for the reply, i know where you are coming from but it seems so easy just to send out a replacement fan, so much hassle removing cooler and sending back, nothing wrong with the cooler will probably have to buy a new fan cos i'm not removing everything just for that....

    Thanks anyway
