Ok, so reinstalling mac OS is easy... just pop in the disc and reinstal..
but has anyone installed mac osx on a blank HDD... like bought a new HDD put it in their mac and installed mac os X fom scratch?
are the install discs bootable?

CD is bootable - put CD in, press and hold C as you hear the chime. Once the grey spinning gear appears let go.

It's really simple to do, as lowe says just hold down the c key.
Then it's a case of stepping through the wizard.
Far more simple than a windows reinstall as all the drivers are done.
at present it seems anything is far simpler than windows!
