Won't mount USB devices?

So I can use my Ixus in iPhoto - I can use my mouse - when I plug in a USB hdd or USB Key - it finds it but doesn't mount it on the desktop - I can see it under Volumes in the terminal

Any ideas?

I've removed all the drives under /Volumes and trying again - here is a screenshot from diskutils....



See the Red circles? Any ideas? It says no permission - yet I've used them on the Mac before... ?

When I click 'view in finder' and try and open the folders it says 'the folder "WD Passport" could not be opened because you do not have sufficient access privileges...'

Solved - I had plugged the drives in Vista (I normally just unplug the damn things!) Anyhow not unmounted them - so for some reason they were being 'lame' plugged them back in Vista and unmounted and they worked fine!
