    KVM woes

    I've been meaning to learn more about macs for a while now, so I've just bought an old G3 B&W from ebay (bear with me because I currently know <0 about macs ). I'd like to share my current keyboard, mouse and monitor with my pc, but I can't get the kvm working.

    The pc works fine, but when I try to switch display to the mac it blanks, and the monitor goes to power saving mode. I read somewhere that some macs need to sense a monitor on boot, so I unplugged the pc and rebooted the mac. This worked a bit;

    Basically it chimes and starts to boot, and the white screen with apple logo comes up for a few seconds, then it goes to power saving, then after a few more seconds it comes back with that little rotating cog kind of 'busy' cursor for a while, and then it blanks again and thats it.

    Has anyone got any ideas?

    I think you meant 'bare' and not 'bear'

    I'm not too sure if Macs (older ones) like KVMs tbh!
