pc parts in a mac?

Hi,
i have a few hdd's (1 ide, 2 or 3 sata), a 6800 gfx card (not too sure on exact specs), and a creative pci-express sound card. would any of these fit in a apple mac? oh, and some ddr2 ram

thinking of getting a mac, but don't want my existing parts to be a waste.

It really depends which mac you are thinking of getting. Have you thought about what you would get?

Depends - if you get a MacPro things like the HDD can be used

The iMac and the MacPro both use different memory but the likes of Corsair sell their own brand stuff which is cheaper and will work.

Graphics cards, well thats a whole new ball game...

A lot of the newer Intel based Macs use components which adopt EFI.This is a different type of firmware to that found in the equivalent PC parts .I know this is definitely true for their graphics cards as you need one with EFI to be compatible with a Mac. I assume the same would be true for any other pci-express components. The RAM should be fine as long as the motherboard supports its size and speed.

Until PCs adopt EFI instead of the conventional BIOS, most add-in boards will not work.

A lot of external stuff (USB, firewire etc) tends to work a treat though.
