    Mac Laptop not working

Wasn't sure weather to post this in the apple section or in the laptop section but i put it in here as i think it might help me more. The problem being that i am unable to get a mac 1400c/166 laptop (very old thing) to even start up. I've asked lots of people on other forums and they guided me towards the triangle key in the top right and also the 'hard reset' button on the back althougth i still can't get it to start up and respond. The previous owners said it did work even a couple of weeks ago, although it is possiable it was broken in transit so i could be trying in vain. I suppose i was just wondering if anybody who's into mac's (because this is the first time i've ever really had one), could tell me something i might be missing to get it to work. I.e. Is there a combination of buttons i should be pressing for this thing to start up??

Just so you know what kinda machine i'm on about heres a quick pic.

The powerbutton is the one above the delete key with a little triangle on.
Did you get a pwoer adapter with it? If so , plug it in and try it from that, and mebbe try it with tha batteries removed.
THe machines themselves are really quite sturdy, and so are unlike to be severly damaged in transit. Still, These things happen.

If you do get it working, have a look at www.lowendmac.com
