    PC to Mac file transfer

I have a few files on a PC i want to tranfer to a mac ibook (OSx) via network.
can I do this and how easy is it to do? do I need any special bits of kit at all and how woud I set either machine to be able to 'recognise' each other on the network (or via direct crossover cable).
    cheers

from finder, click go, connect to server, smb://windows-pc-name-or-ip-address

Basically as Hex said, but it depends on which flavour of OS X you have.
In jaguar (10.2), you can click go-> Network, and use that window to find the PC.
In Panther (10.3), you open a new finder window, open 'Network" in the side pane and then browse through the various directories until you find your PC.

Also, you can open up Sys Prefs, and under "sharing" turn on Windows file sharing (Samba) and then view the mac on the PC f you prefer.
