Graphics file format jpeg & WinXP paint...

My problem is that when I open a jpeg file with WinXp paint, make a small change and then save as jpeg again, there is quality loss even though I didn't change the file format.

If I save the file as bmp there is no quality loss but it's very large.

If open a jpeg using PhotoShop CS and save it as jpeg again, there is no quality loss.

Is there a way to open jpeg file with winXP paint, do what I have to do & then save as jpeg again without losing in quality?

I don't understand why it does that?

It's because mspaint quite honestly sucks, the jpeg quality is hardcoded stupidly low..
Use another app

the man has a point, mspaint sucks, ive used photoshop and the jpeg saving tool is great, you can choose quality, size, etc , and you can also preview what it looks like after being transcoded as a jpeg and the resulting differnece
