Switch to Mac, Worth it?

Hi Guys!

I have been considering moving to Mac recently, i no longer need a workhorse of a PC as i only use it for checking email's and web browsing. And for one game alone.. World of Warcraft

What i was thinking of doing was buying a 17" PowerBook on Apple Finance and then selling my PC, to cover the cost (Not all of the cost but over half)

I have a few questions about the PowerBook,

Would it run World of Warcraft well in comparison with a Athlon 64 3500, 1GB Ram, GeForce 6800 GT machine?

Can you access an exchange mailbox from a mac? (This isnt essential, but would be VERY helpful )

And thats about it i think, if i do get a PowerBook then expect some pictures and a review

Exchange integration will be handled by Entourage

I doubt it would play WoW as smoothly, but should be alright. Also note that 512MB of RAM is bare minimum for OS X...

No it won't be anywhere near as smooth. You're talking about a huge power difference whenever you go from any desktop to a laptop. Laptops run on batteries. Try that with your desktop.

Cheers for the feedback guys, i have decided against getting a high-spec mac laptop! I will stick with my current desktopm for now and while i am on the road i will get myself either a 12" iBook or 12" PowerBook, depends really! I like the SMS and 5400rpm drives on the PB's shame the iBook dosent have that!

And to answer StormPC.... My PC does run on batterys......... A 700VA UPS, lasts 20 mins <hides>

Btw the powerbooks are so much nicer than the iBooks. Trust me, if you can afford it (obviously you can as you even considered a 17") get a Powerbook, the iBooks are for poor students - yes, crappier build quality. Beware: the 12" display panel is of inferior quality when compared with the 15/17"... It isn't that crisp but you *can* live with it.

Just how inferior is it? As i really could do with the 12" for portability
